Beauty Summons Us
Beautiful is the sweetness of the lamb,
gazing up at the master who has lifted her up
from the rocky gap into which she fell.
Cradled in his arms, nestled close to his heart,
she knows herself as love.
The same love in the arms of a mother
when first holding her child, the mystery of life unfolding.
Star gazing, the mother wonders what she is beholding
in the purity of this face. Am I worthy?
She ponders the immensity of this tiny being
and her own humbleness.
The child, in deep presence of new being,
summons the mother to be present also.
She whispers, come to me, mystery of who you are!
Safely clasped close to her breast,
the child knows itself as love.
The sacred bond is inviolate,
withstanding storms of life or inborne soul light
calling to be healed, the unfolding mystery beckons
both mother and child.
Welcoming beauty requires courage,
not all understand the courage it takes.
Forgiveness is the balm.
What beauty can be witnessed and taken in
is determined by each soul as its tendrils reach toward the light.
The path ahead is crystalline, perfect for each one.
Rough waves on the surface waters of life
betray the beauty underneath.
What colorful fish, fairies and jewels there are...
Oh, mystery of life,
You are content to show me your secrets as I am ready!
Glistening stones at the river’s edge,
I gaze into your wisdom, searching for clarity,
to understand the gifts of beauty I refused,
that I judged as unworthy.
What gifts are these?
At last, I gather courage
to love it all, the divinity within myself and all life,
whatever I had deemed myself unworthy of.
Now, gazing into the mirror,
I know myself as love.
