The Dervish, the Rose and the Cat

The Dervish spins, one hand facing earth,

the other facing heaven

until he touches the face of God..

then he slows, circling back

into being an ordinary human again..

The rose gives its life essence into blooming,

then releases itself back into the ineffable

from which it came

its fragrance remains with us..

The cat loves her human,

pouring her devotion

into her presence close to you

spending her moments of joy, purring.

When she leaves the body,

her joy remains with you..

They are all melting into the same presence.

You my beloved are essentially one

with the dervish, the rose, and the cat,

are you not?

Be the crazy person, or the fool,

do whatever it takes to spend the gifts that you are,  

that bring you back into being joy again.

Heaven and earth

are not separate places in you.
